This week, George Eustice set out what support Defra is providing farmers ahead of the growing season given the impact of high fertiliser prices. This includes:
- clarification about the criteria the Environment Agency will use when applying the farming rules for water (see below);
- a delay in the proposed changes to the use of urea fertiliser by at least a year;
- the new slurry storage grantswhich will be part of the Farming Transformation Fund later this autumn, and
- further details about the Sustainable Farming Incentive(see above).
