DERWENT COMMONERS JOIN THE DOTS!

The Derwent Commoners went hunting for “Dots” up the Newlands Valley on Monday night.  We are working with them on a project funded by the Foundation for Common Land helping them assess the habitat and vegetation on the common.  This session was testing the Foundation’s SFI Moorland App which generates a randomly generated point within each 10ha block on the common.  Our host farmer was particularly enthusiastic in his quest to find his “dots” - we lost him a couple of times up the steep sides of the Newlands valley!  With grateful thanks to the Derwent commoners for agreeing to be part of the project.
