SKILLS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME SUSTAINING FARMING IN THE WESTMORLAND DALES

Places are available for 2 young farmers from the Westmorland Dales to gain work experience on farms in the area and benefit from a training bursary worth £1,250.

The Farmer Network has been awarded funding from the Westmorland Dales Landscape Partnership Scheme to help 2 young farmers aged between 18 and 25 to gain work experience on farms in the area and benefit from a training bursary worth £1,250.  The bursary will help with the costs of certificated training such as ATV, trailer handling and use of pesticides and other courses to help develop farming related skills

The “Sustaining Farming in the Westmorland Dales” project is being delivered by The Westmorland Dales Landscape Partnership Scheme, a four-year programme with a vision to unlock and reveal the hidden heritage of the Westmorland Dales. The project has been grant funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and the Yorkshire Dales Sustainable Development Fund.
