CUmbria Wildlife Trust will shortly be cutting 2 traditional hay meadows near Burneside which are in Stewardship and have been gradually increasing in species richness-black knapweed, eyebright, red clover, great burnet, wood and meadow cranesbills, autumn hawkbit, meadow vetchling are some. Is anyone interested in green hay as a seed source for improvement of their own meadows? (this year we have a relatively low density of rattle, so hay probably more suitable for improvement than initial restoration). Alternatively we will have (weather permitting) small bale hay which can be fed to stock on the meadows you are trying to improve. This we will be selling for £3/bale collected off the field.
