Adam and Veronica have been down at NFU Stoneleigh this week at a national conference for farm support groups organised by the Prince’s Countryside Fund. This has been a valuable opportunity to network with farming charities and other farm support groups. The conference was attended by Jonathan Baker - Defra’s Strategy, policy and engagement director, and Sandy Kapila of the RPA.  Veronica raised the issue of the lack of clarity about the interaction between SFI and Stewardship and the lack of support for new entrants.  Adam highlighted the impact on farming communities of land being taken back in-hand by landlords for tree planting.
