Yesterday, the Government announced the new Tier system that will apply from 2nd December. Both Cumbria and the Yorkshire Dales are in Tier 2, but much of the rest of Northern England is in Tier 3. Tourism accommodation may not have to close in Tier 2 areas, but there may be a high level of cancelled bookings from visitors not able to travel because of living in Tier 3.
Some Local Authorities) have now opened their Local Restrictions Support Grant for businesses forced to close by the most recent lockdown. These grants require applicants to be registered for business rates and the grant is available for each 14 day period the business has had to close.
