Coronavirus local business grant scheme might be expanded to help B&Bs

Local Authorities are to be provided with additional funds to help some small businesses that don’t qualify for existing Coronavirus grants which require applicants to be registered for business rates.

Details are not yet available, but one of the groups that Local Authorities have been asked to prioritise are small Bed and Breakfast businesses that pay council tax rather than business rates.  This might help farmhouse B&Bs.  The allocation of funding will be at the discretion of local authorities and businesses must be able to demonstrate that they have seen a significant drop of income due to Coronavirus restriction measures.  The announcement is on the following link and we will provide an update with more details in our weekly E News:
