CLOSTRIDIAL DISEASE IN SHEEP

Clostridial disease is the most common cause of sudden death in UK sheep and lambs. As most infected individuals will be found dead or dying, antibiotic treatment does not work, so the most important mechanism to control clostridial disease is vaccination. Recently there have been some supply issues with clostridial vaccines and vets report that you may find your usual vaccination difficult to get hold of.  This article from Capontree Vets includes a table with a summary of what conditions are covered by each vaccine. Please speak to your vet if you have any difficulty or concern in choosing the most appropriate vaccine for your flock
