BASIC PAYMENT SCHEME PAYMENTS

From 1st December, the Rural Payments Agency started to send out 2018 BPS payments and we are starting to get calls from farmers about their payments.

 How to query your payment

If you think your payment isn’t right, wait until you receive your Claim Statement and check your land parcel information as the RPA may have made changes following the remapping exercise.  If you still do not agree with the amount you’ve been paid, fill in a payment query form which can be downloaded from the following link and return it to the RPA by email or post.  https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/basic-payment-scheme-payment-query-form

What if my BPS payment doesn’t arrive?

You can track the progress of your BPS claim on the Rural Payments service. Go to the ‘Apply for BPS’ screen and the ‘status’ box will show the progress of your claim.  If the RPA cannot pay you by the end of the year, they state they will contact you later in December and say that delays in payment are more likely for ‘Cross border’ claims, claims from businesses that have had an inspection and claims that include common land.

How much is the payment?
