Farmer Network Research Project

In 2018, with the help of the Prince’s Countryside Fund, the Farmer Network undertook a feasibility study to find out the level of interest in setting up new farmer networks in the North York Moors and Northumberland.  A series of meetings were held in both areas to inform farmers about the different models for farmer networks around England and get their thoughts about what type of services and activities they would like a Network to undertake if established in their area.

There was considerable interest in setting up new Networks, particularly in the North York Moors, with steering groups set up of local farmers to progress their ideas.  We are now in the process of submitting grant applications to help fund the setting up costs of these new Networks.
