This week, Donna and Esme travelled to Winchester for the RCF Farm Support Group conference, which takes place over two days.
The event was a great opportunity to meet with other Farm Support Groups, some of which work in a similar way to the Farmer Network and others who offer different services. The theme for the conference was collaboration, looking at the effectiveness and practical value of groups and organisations working together to benefit the farming community.
Other topics covered were “Health hubs in auction marts”, “Getting young people involved: What works”, “Bringing farmers together: creating a cluster” and “Strengthening farming through women’s networks”.
Lots of ideas were generated and thoughts taken away that will be further discussed amongst the team, and a new skill of Ceilidh dancing was learnt, but maybe don’t ask for a demonstration!
