In Cumbria, we are working in partnership with the Natural England Catchment Sensitive Farming (CSF) programme with funding for 8 workshops and 8 clinics on issues relating to water and air quality. Topics will include managing grassland particularly herbal leys, improving slurry management, how to prepare for an Environment Agency inspection, managing watercourses and livestock building design to reduce ammonia emissions. Farmers who attend the workshops will be able to benefit from one-to-one support at clinics.
This follows a successful partnership project delivered in 2024/25 helping farmers understand how to establish and manage herbal leys. Contact the office for further information and a copy of our report.
