Looking for shade! On a red hot day yesterday farmers discussed the benefits of hedges and trees for shade and shelter as well as securing boundaries.  This was one aspect of the benefits of creating wildlife habitat alongside food production that Countryside Stewardship, and the new Farming in Protected Landscapes funding can help farmers with in the North Pennines and Fellfoot Forward Landscape Partnership areas.
