Steve Reed announced £110 million for innovation, equipment and technology grants. This will include another round of the Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF) in “the spring” and a new Farming Innovation Programme (FIP) including competitions to unlock the benefits of precision breeding and supporting the transition to Net Zero. There will also be a new ADOPT fund for “farmer-led trials that bridge the gap between new technologies and their real-world application, giving farmers the confidence investments in tech will deliver the returns they need”.
