Do you want to find out what is ailing thin ewes in your flock?  APHA are looking to recruit farmers who would like to investigate the cause of ill thrift in breeding ewes. They are offering free post-mortem examination of three thin ewes for each farm recruited up to the end of December 2020. The ewes will be tested for a range of diseases and assessed for other potential causes of ill thrift with the post=mortem and testing free of charge.  Arrangements should be made with your own vet with sheep to be taken to the APHA centre at Thirsk (Yorkshire) or APHA Penrith (Cumbria).  Free collection may be available if you are more than one hour drive from these centres.
