Defra announced this week that the Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF) will open for applications on 29th May. This will offer grants of up to £25,000 to help with the purchase of equipment for improving productivity, managing slurry and improving animal health and welfare. The list of equipment has been updated with many more items available particularly under the animal health and welfare theme. The scheme is competitive and there is an uplift in points by 20% if you can demonstrate you have contacted your vet about the animal health and welfare items. Applications are also more likely to be successful for the productivity and slurry equipment if you have claimed less than £10k of FETF grants in previous rounds. More information and the guidance notes are at: DEFRA Blog - FETF Guidance now available. The deadline for applications is midday on 10th July.
