This week, The Farmer Network was honoured to attend the Royal Countryside Fund Reception at the House of Lords, marking both the success and official closure of the Farm for the Future programme. This was funded by Defra and provided support for farmers across England with us delivering in all our Network areas. Speeches from Chief Executive Keith Halstead and the Earl of Lindsay, Patron of the Royal Countryside Fund, highlighted the achievements and key findings. Farming Minister Daniel Zeichner was also in attendance. It was a fantastic evening and speaking with fellow organisations from all corners of the country reinforced the importance of support networks like ours. No matter the geography – the challenges faced by farmers are shared by all.
