BPS PAYMENT REDUCTIONS CONFIRMED FOR 2026 & 2027

On Monday, hidden a long way down a Blog about the Spending Review, Defra published information about the de-linked BPS rates for 2026 and 2027.  For the first £30,000 BPS reference amount there will be a 98% reduction, with 100% reduction for any reference amount over £30k.  This means that the maximum payment will be £600 per year and is an even greater reduction than the 76% cut to BPS payments for 2025 capped at £7,200 announced in the October budget.  There will be no BPS payments after 2027.  More details are in the Spending Review announcement – see the below article.
