Last Friday, Yorkshire Dales Council member, David Airey, welcomed Janet Hughes, the head of Defra’s Future Farming and Countryside Programme, to his farm near Sutton in Craven.  This was followed by a meeting at Skipton Auction mart with other members of our Yorkshire Dales Council.  It was a great opportunity to discuss the concerns tenants have about accessing the new schemes and the impact of the changes on upland farmers.
