The team at a North Yorkshire training business are celebrating after winning the Runner Up in the Best Small Business category at the Rural Business Awards 2022.

Vicky Anderson Ltd, based at Ellerbeck near Northallerton were put forward to the National Finals of the prestigious awards after being crowned as the Northern Region Winners of their category in November last year.

Announced at an online ceremony a couple of weeks ago hosted by BBC Countryfile’s Jules Hudson, the team beat off stiff competition from other finalists from around the UK to take home the coveted title.

Now in their 7th year, the Awards celebrate and champion businesses throughout the UK’s rural sector and celebrate their achievements.

Judged by an independent panel including representatives from the business sector (Amazon), official agencies and rural charitable organisations, the Awards have grown to become the UK’s most prestigious and respected for rural enterprises.

Managing Director Vicky said: “We are absolutely thrilled! Our team work extremely hard to provide a great service to our customers who are spread across the whole of the UK.

“The last couple of years have been incredibly challenging but we’ve managed to change our practices and the way we work to accommodate all the restrictions and rules.

“We were up against some fantastic businesses in our category so to take home the award really is a great achievement and one we will certainly be celebrating.”

Launched in 2012, Vicky Anderson Ltd started out from humble beginnings in a cupboard under the stairs providing support to farmers and has since expanded to include offices in converted agricultural buildings on the family farm, conference and training facilities and a growing team of staff.

Clients range from small farms through to large estates, councils and a diverse range of rural businesses and the company now offers a range of both business and training services including employment legislation, payroll and accounts through to practical and theory-based qualifications, recognised by national awarding bodies such as City & Guilds, Lantra and NPTC.
