Last night, Veronica gave a talk about SFI and was questioned about how the new supplements work on top of the Manage grassland with very low nutrient inputs option of £151/ha. The supplements include:
| Haymaking supplement | £157/ha/year |
| Haymaking supplement late cut | £187/ha/year |
| Lenient grazing supplement | £28/ha/year |
| Cattle grazing supplement (non-moorland) | £59/ha/year |
| Keep native breeds at risk on grazed habitats (50-80% of LUs) | £92/ha/year
|
| Keep native breeds at risk on grazed habitats >80% LUs | £146/ha/year
|
On enclosed land below the moorland line, the principle is that you can only use one supplement on each land parcel. The exception is the hay making supplements which can be combined with the cattle grazing supplement on the same field. Note that if you applied for SFI 2023, e.g. for low input grassland, you need to take out a new SFI 2024 agreement to add supplements to these land parcels (crackers but true!).
Next week, we will be looking at the new SFI 2024 moorland options and their supplements in more detail. More information is on the following links:
