Penrith and The Border MP, Dr Neil Hudson, is celebrating a £100 million broadband rollout plan to connect rural homes and businesses in Cumbria.  Around 60,000 rural premises are set to benefit from improved broadband installed by Belfast-based contractor, Fibrus, including those in highly remote parts of the Lake District who are part of a pilot scheme to connect people to the internet via satellite.
