The Chancellor has just announced further support for jobs and businesses affected by Coronavirus shutdowns. Employees who work for firms forced to shut by law because of coronavirus restrictions will get two-thirds of their wages paid for by the government. This is an "expansion" of the Job Support Scheme, which begins on 1 November and which will be available for six months. The existing furlough scheme ends on 31st October.
