FLOODING IMPACTS

Storm Ciara last weekend resulted in a number of farmers experiencing flood damage and problems in Cumbria with water supplies.

If you incurred uninsured losses due to Storm Ciara, the Prince’s Countryside Fund may be able to assist you through their work with Farming Help (a group of charities who exist to support Farmers).  For more information please contact Diane Spark on 07968 874968 or diane@utass.org or visitwww.farminghelp.co.uk.

The Farmer Network is also keeping a database of farmers in case further help is available and we recommend you take photos and keep records of any uninsured losses and costs eg of deadstock disposal.

In Cumbria, United Utilities reports that the pipe damaged by Storm Ciara has been repaired and water is now coming back into the network. However, this needs to be refilled gradually and water should be coming back on over the next two days.  Farmers who still have concerns about their water supply should contact United Utilities using the following number which is dedicated for farmers with no water 03450726071.
