The Farmer Network has received funding from the Cumbria Growth Catalyst programme to enable us to provide free one to one advice to help farmers review their businesses post Brexit.  The Agriculture Bill is proposing the phase out of direct payments from 2021-2027 and the introduction of a new Environment Land Management Scheme that will replace these direct payments and existing Stewardship Schemes.  On average, direct payments account for over 90% of Farm Business Income for beef and sheep businesses and almost 40% for dairy businesses.  Our business health check tool is designed to help farmers understand more about these proposed changes and consider their options for the future.  For more information about the service and/or to book an appointment, please contact Ruth Kendal on 07397 985324.
