We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated candidate to join our Farm Team. The role involves working closely with, assisting and learning from our Farm Vet Technician, and is available because of the increasing level of services offered by this side of the practice within a growing Farm Department.
A willingness to learn, and an ability to communicate well with colleagues and clients, as well as enthusiasm and initiative when working alone and unsupervised is more important than full relevant experience. The role does, however, involve working with farm livestock outside in the elements as well in the farm unit at the surgery, and so previous experience of working with and confidence around livestock would be a definite advantage.
The laboratory work, correlation and presentation of data that is involved with the role means that we are looking for someone who is comfortable working with computers, and possesses the ability to concentrate well with attention to detail, but is also comfortable performing the significant amount of cleaning of clinical areas and equipment that is required.
The nature of the work calls for flexibility and a willingness to help colleagues in the whole practice team when and where required.
This will be a full-time position (35 hours per week), initially on an 18 month temporary contract.
