This week, the government launched a consultation seeking views on reducing ammonia emissions from solid urea fertilisers.  They are consulting on 3 options:

• A total ban on their use;
• The addition of a chemical that slows the conversion of urea to ammonium;
• Spreading only allowed from 15 January - 31 March.
