Cumbria Connect: Farming with Nature
Cumbria Connect works with farmers, land managers and landowners to support resilient, nature-friendly farming in eastern Cumbria. As one of the largest nature recovery programmes in the UK, Cumbria Connect spans 42,000 hectares across the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks.
We provide tailored workshops, farm visits and business advice and grants to help farm businesses thrive amidst change. Our initiatives prioritise profitability, sustainability and environmental recovery ensuring livestock, land and nature can flourish together.
Cumbria Connect also leads the Defra-funded Penrith2Kendal Landscape Recovery Scheme, working with 35 farmers on a 20-year plan for landscape-scale nature recovery across 14,500 hectares.
