On Wednesday, over 20 farmers enjoyed a farm walk at Buckden, kindly hosted by Garry & Gillian Schofield.  The theme was ‘Adding Value With Native Breeds’ and we heard from Garry about how he manages his Belted Galloway herd and from Ruth Dalton of Pasture for Life about the value of pasture fed livestock.  Swaledale Butchers provided a BBQ and talked about how they market local beef and lamb.  Thank you to everyone who braved the elements with us and to the Yorkshire Dales FiPL programme who funded the workshop.
