Defra has recently written to farmers with existing Environmental Stewardship agreements to outline changes being introduced in 2023. Rather than offering an annual extension, Defra is offering extensions of 5 years but with break clauses to allow you to switch to the new ELM schemes as they are rolled out.  Go to: Environmental Stewardship Update.
