Threapland Lees – Farm Open Day

Join the Farmer Network and the Bowness family for an open day including a series of farm walks and talks looking at the dairy business, grassland management including herbal leys, the arable enterprise and how the business has applied for grants to improve farm infrastructure. The talks will include an update on schemes including SFI 2024. Lunch is included.
Bowness Farms is a dairy farming business involving 3 generations. They manage 600 acres over 3 farms with 270 dairy cows and youngstock, arable and some sheep . They have been in environmental schemes for over 30 years and have signed up to SFI including the herbal leys option. The event will cover all these aspects of the business with the help of the Bowness family, the farm’s advisers and consultant, Andy Dyer.
