The Cumbria Farmer Network is a membership organisation, open to farmers and farmer controlled businesses in Cumbria. The annual subscription is £40 plus VAT. Anyone can join as an Associate for the same annual fee, this membership excludes voting rights but includes full benefits. The fee is reviewed each year at the AGM in January.

The Cumbria Farmer Network was formed in October 2005, and started operating in July 2006. Our philosophy is that local farmers benefit by working together but need to take some responsibility to realise the benefits, especially when facing changes in input prices, regulations, environment and the market place, which affects changes to management practices.

The work of the Network is driven by its members and not from Head Office. We use local farmer Coordinators to carry out most of the work of the company with back-up support on project management, finance etc. - hence the strapline "organised by farmers for farmers."
