About Us

The Farmer Network is a not for profit organisation solely developed to help, support and guide farmers by providing services and benefits to two distinct local communities, the Yorkshire Dales and Cumbria. It is run by farmers for farmers.

About Cumbria

The Cumbria Farmer Network was formed in October 2005 and started operating in July 2006, our philosophy today remains the same - that local farmers benefit by working together.

The numbers speak for themselves: over 500 members in Cumbria are now benefiting from being part of the Network, especially when facing changes in input prices, increased regulations, environment issues and an increasingly harsh market place, all of which affect changes to agricultural management practices.

About the Yorkshire Dales

Following on from the success of The Cumbria Farmer Network we were approached to expand the area we cover and The Yorkshire Dales Farmer Network was formed in January 2010, and started operating in August 2010.

There are now over 120 Yorkshire Dales members and although the area is serviced by the Head Office in Penrith, the work of the Farmer Network is (and always will be) driven by its membership, and not from Head Office - hence the strapline “run by farmers, for the benefit of farmers”.
